Ballooning - An Adventure you will remember
The beauty and tranquility of a balloon ride is something that can be enjoyed by everyone. Hot air balloons drift gracefully above, where peace and tranquility reign as you float along.
Image yourself as you leave the ground you'll hear the roar of the burners as you rise into the sky, then the silence of floating peacefully, drifting with the winds, looking down on trees, streams, farms and fields. As you look out you'll see Lake Champlain, the Green mountains of Vermont, the Adirondacks in New York, and sometimes as far as Canada.
When you fly at treetop level you'll enjoy looking for wild turkeys or deer in the woods. You sometimes can smell wood smoke from nearby homes as you drift through the valley. Flying a balloon is just one of those things for which there is no substitute. You don't feel the wind, you are a part of it, sometimes you don't even realizing you are moving.
Balloon flights are a great idea for romantic interludes, family outings, corporate events, or any other occasion that you want to be remembered forever!
The balloon seems to stand still in the air while the earth flies past underneath.
Pilots are FAA Certified Commercial pilots and Flight Instructors with extensive knowledge of local micrometeorology. Each pilot attend annual Safety seminars endorsed by the Balloon Federation of America.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN OUR BALLOON RIDE?
In addition to your flight, you will have the opportunity to participate with hands on as a ground crew member. If you wish - not required. Or if you chose, you can just stand back and enjoy the process of making ready-inflating the gentle giant, your hot air balloon. Complimentary refreshments including a champagne toast at the end of the flight.
WHAT DO I WEAR AND BRING?
The temperature during the flight is about the same as on the ground. We recommend that you dress like you were going for a hike or working around your yard. Wear casual clothes, sneakers or boots are best. A hat/cap can be helpful due to the heat from the propane burner above our heads that heats the air in the hot air balloon. The fields we use can be wet with dew in the morning; waterproof footwear is advisable. Please do NOT wear dresses, shorts, sandals or heels. By all means bring your camera, plenty of film, perhaps binoculars, but remember space is limited.
AGE AND HEALTH A CONSIDERATION?
Our flight is NOT recommended for those under 10 or over 75, pregnant women, persons with osteoporosis, head, back, leg injuries, or who have recently undergone surgery. Passengers stand during the flight and some agility to get in and out of the balloon basket is required.
Warning: Ballooning, like most outdoor activities, involves a certain amount of risk. Bumpy landings are not uncommon.
